Description

This Stuffed Cabbage Roll Casserole combines the flavors of traditional stuffed cabbage rolls with the convenience of a casserole. It’s made with turkey bacon for a healthier twist on a classic dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 8 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 head cabbage, chopped
  • 2 cups rice, cooked
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the chopped turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the ground turkey and cook until browned. Add onions and garlic, cooking until softened.
  4. In a large bowl, combine cooked rice, tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, paprika, parsley, cooked turkey, and turkey bacon.
  5. Layer the chopped cabbage in a baking dish, then spread the meat mixture over the cabbage.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider mixing in some shredded cheese before serving.
