Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 quart vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine peaches, sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Cook over medium heat until peaches are tender and mixture thickens.
  2. Roll out the pie crusts and cut into circles.
  3. Place a spoonful of peach filling on one half of each circle, fold over, and seal edges with a fork.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the pies in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze. Drizzle over the warm pies.
