- 2 ribeye steaks
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, smashed
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Remove steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Pat the steaks dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add the steaks to the skillet and sear for about 4 minutes on one side, without moving them.
- Flip the steaks and add the smashed garlic and rosemary to the skillet.
- Cook for another 3-4 minutes, basting with melted butter.
- Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the steaks overnight with your favorite seasoning.
- Allow the skillet to get really hot for the best sear.
