Ingredients

  • 2 pounds fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon


Instructions

  1. Wash and hull the strawberries.
  2. In a large saucepan, combine sugar, vinegar, salt, black peppercorns, mustard seeds, and cinnamon. Bring to a boil.
  3. Add strawberries and reduce heat. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  5. Pack strawberries into sterilized jars while hot.
  6. Pour the pickling liquid over the strawberries, making sure they are fully submerged.
  7. Seal jars and allow to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate.
