- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs

- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine melted butter and sugar, then add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Spread half of the brownie batter in the prepared pan.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, lemon zest, and lemon juice until smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the brownie layer in the pan.
- Top with the remaining brownie batter and swirl gently with a knife.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before cutting into bars.
Notes
- For a stronger lemon flavor, add more lemon zest.
