Description

These heart-shaped jam-filled donuts are the perfect treat to share with loved ones. Soft, sweet, and filled with your favorite jam, these donuts will delight any sweet tooth.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup fruit jam of choice
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, activate the yeast by mixing it with warm milk and a teaspoon of sugar. Let it sit for about 10 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add softened butter, eggs, and the activated yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour.
  5. Once risen, roll out the dough and cut into heart shapes.
  6. Place a small spoonful of jam in the center of half of the heart shapes, then cover with the remaining hearts, pinching the edges to seal.
  7. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the donuts until golden brown, about 3 minutes on each side.
  8. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Use any jam flavor you prefer, such as raspberry, strawberry, or apricot.
  • Make sure the oil is hot enough to ensure the donuts fry properly without absorbing too much oil.
