  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 3 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg.
  2. In another bowl, whisk the eggs, then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Using a donut cutter, cut out donuts and carefully place them in the hot oil.
  6. Fry donuts for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  7. Remove donuts and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth; dip the warm donuts into the glaze.
