- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a pot, combine the water, butter, sugar, and salt; bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in flour and baking powder until well combined.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Pipe 2-inch circles of dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- To achieve the best texture, do not overcrowd the fryer.
