- 6-8 tablespoons ice water
- 3 cups peeled and diced apples
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in water, a tablespoon at a time, until mixture forms a ball. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
- In another bowl, combine apples, cinnamon, brown sugar, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Roll dough on a floured surface, cut into circles, and fill each with apple mixture. Fold and seal edges.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer. Fry hand pies until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add caramel or raisins to the apple filling.
- Make sure the oil is heated properly to avoid soggy pies.
