Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups sliced onions
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil.
  2. Sauté the onions until translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Place the chicken breasts in the Crockpot, season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and thyme.
  4. Top the chicken with sautéed onions and pour in the beef broth.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  6. In the last 30 minutes, place Swiss cheese on top of the chicken and allow it to melt.
  7. Serve warm with a side of crusty bread.
