- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cups sliced onions
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 8 slices Swiss cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil.
- Sauté the onions until translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
- Place the chicken breasts in the Crockpot, season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and thyme.
- Top the chicken with sautéed onions and pour in the beef broth.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- In the last 30 minutes, place Swiss cheese on top of the chicken and allow it to melt.
- Serve warm with a side of crusty bread.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider adding Worcestershire sauce.
