Description

A comforting and easy-to-make casserole that brings the flavors of traditional cabbage rolls to your table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 large cabbage, chopped
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with uncooked rice, tomato sauce, beef broth, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a crockpot, layer half of the chopped cabbage, then add the beef mixture, and top with the remaining cabbage.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the cabbage is tender and the rice is fully cooked.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider adding some Italian seasoning to the mixture.
  • Feel free to substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
