Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and paprika.
  3. Add the cubed butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Pour in the buttermilk and stir until just combined; do not overmix.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
  8. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with dried parsley.
  9. Brush the melted butter mixture over the biscuits right after they come out of the oven.

Notes

  • For best results, use cold butter and buttermilk.
