Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breasts, diced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup carrots, sliced
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the chicken, chicken broth, carrots, and celery. Bring to a boil and simmer until chicken is cooked through.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, thyme, and pepper. Stir in the melted butter and milk to form a dough.
  3. Drop spoonfuls of dumpling dough into the boiling soup. Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes until dumplings are fluffy.
  4. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste before serving.
