Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  3. In another bowl, combine melted butter and granulated sugar. Mix in eggs and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until combined.
  5. Spread half of the brownie batter in the prepared pan.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth. Spread this cream cheese mixture over the brownie layer.
  7. Spoon the cherry pie filling over the cream cheese layer, and top with the remaining brownie batter.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add chocolate chips to the brownie batter.
