- 1 loaf Italian bread
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 2 ripe tomatoes, sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix the softened butter and minced garlic until well combined.
- Slice the Italian bread in half lengthwise and spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on both halves.
- Layer the mozzarella slices on top of the buttered bread, followed by the tomato slices.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Once out of the oven, top with fresh basil leaves, slice, and serve immediately.
