- 3 medium apples

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and cube the butternut squash and slice the apples.
- In a large bowl, combine the butternut squash, apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and melted butter.
- Transfer the mixture into a baking dish and top with chopped nuts if using.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until the squash is tender.
