- 12 Hawaiian rolls
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 large egg yolks
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream and sugar until dissolved.
- In a bowl, whisk together egg yolks and cornstarch.
- Slowly pour the hot cream mixture into the egg mixture while whisking.
- Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook until thickened.
- Stir in vanilla extract and allow to cool.
- Once cooled, cut the Hawaiian rolls in half and fill each with the pastry cream.
- For the ganache, melt chocolate chips and butter together until smooth.
- Drizzle the ganache over the filled rolls.
- Serve immediately or chill until ready to enjoy.
Notes
- For best results, chill the pastry cream before filling the rolls.
- Feel free to garnish with whipped cream for an extra touch.
