Description

Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter


Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream and sugar until dissolved.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together egg yolks and cornstarch.
  3. Slowly pour the hot cream mixture into the egg mixture while whisking.
  4. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook until thickened.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract and allow to cool.
  6. Once cooled, cut the Hawaiian rolls in half and fill each with the pastry cream.
  7. For the ganache, melt chocolate chips and butter together until smooth.
  8. Drizzle the ganache over the filled rolls.
  9. Serve immediately or chill until ready to enjoy.
