Description

These Banana Cream Pie Bars are a deliciously easy dessert that combines the classic flavors of banana cream pie in a bar form. Perfect for gatherings or a sweet treat at home!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream, for topping


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until well combined.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom of a baking dish to form the crust.
  4. Bake the crust for 10 minutes and then let it cool.
  5. In a saucepan, combine the milk, heavy cream, sugar, and cornstarch. Whisk together and cook over medium heat until thickened.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  7. Layer the sliced bananas over the cooled crust, then pour the cream mixture on top.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
  9. Top with whipped cream before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, use ripe but firm bananas to avoid mushiness.
  • Feel free to add a sprinkle of chocolate shavings on top for extra flavor!
