Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup diced apples
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the cold butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Stir in milk until just combined.
  5. Fold in the diced apples, cinnamon, sugar, and lemon juice.
  6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently.
  7. Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness and cut into preferred shapes.
  8. Place on a baking sheet and brush with the beaten egg.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
