- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 cup diced apples
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the cold butter and mix until crumbly.
- Stir in milk until just combined.
- Fold in the diced apples, cinnamon, sugar, and lemon juice.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently.
- Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness and cut into preferred shapes.
- Place on a baking sheet and brush with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- For extra sweetness, add a glaze or icing on top after baking.
