Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups watermelon, cubed
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (optional)
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the cubed watermelon and water. Blend until smooth.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher.
- Add in the lime juice, honey/agave, and stir well.
- In a separate bowl, combine the chia seeds and let them sit for about 10 minutes until they expand.
- Once the chia seeds have expanded, mix them into the watermelon mixture.
- Chop the fresh basil leaves and stir them in gently.
- Refrigerate for about 30 minutes before serving.
- Serve chilled with ice and enjoy!
Notes
- Adjust sweetness according to your taste.
- For a more intense basil flavor, muddel the basil leaves lightly before adding them to the mix.
