Ingredients

12 oz penne pasta

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast (cut into bite-sized pieces)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon butter

8 oz cremini or white mushrooms (sliced)

1 bunch asparagus (trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces)

3 cloves garlic (minced)

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup chicken broth

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: Red pepper flakes, chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions

Cook penne pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a skillet, sauté seasoned chicken pieces until golden and cooked through. Remove.

In the same pan, sauté mushrooms in butter. Add asparagus and garlic; cook until tender-crisp.

Add cream and broth; stir in Parmesan. Simmer until slightly thickened.

Return chicken and pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce.

Serve hot, garnished with extra Parmesan and parsley if desired.
