- 1 box vanilla cake mix
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly in the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Layer the sliced strawberries over the cream cheese mixture.
- In a separate bowl, mix the cake mix with melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until just combined.
- Pour the cake batter over the strawberry layer, smoothing it out evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, substitute milk with heavy cream.
- This dessert is best served fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for a couple of days.
