Ingredients

  • 2 cups navy beans, soaked overnight
  • 6 slices turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot, cover the soaked beans with fresh water and bring to a boil. Cook for 30 minutes then drain.
  3. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beans, turkey bacon, sautéed onion and garlic, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, and black pepper.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and cover.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, then remove the cover and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
