Ingredients

  • 1 pound sausages
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 cups cabbage, chopped
  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter


Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the sausages over medium heat until browned. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until tender.
  3. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms, stir, and gradually add beef broth, stirring until thickened.
  4. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder, then return sausages to the skillet.
  5. In a separate pot, boil potatoes until tender. Drain and return to pot.
  6. Add chopped cabbage to the potatoes and cook until cabbage is wilted.
  7. Stir in heavy cream and butter, mashing until creamy.
  8. Serve sausages with gravy over the creamy cabbage mashed potatoes.

  • For extra flavor, add herbs like thyme or parsley to the gravy.
  • Leftover gravy can be served with bread or over rice.
