Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 lb (450 g) fresh green beans, trimmed
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ cup (25 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Wash and trim the green beans, then pat them dry thoroughly.
  3. In a bowl, toss the green beans with olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper until well coated.
  4. Spread the beans on the baking sheet in a single layer.
  5. Roast for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  6. Sprinkle with Parmesan and roast for an additional 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy.
  7. Serve immediately with a squeeze of lemon juice, if desired.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for better melting and crisping.
  • For extra crispy beans, roast at 450°F using a dark baking sheet.
  • Frozen green beans can be used but must be thawed and dried thoroughly.
