Description

A delicious twist on traditional Philly cheesesteak that combines pasta and turkey bacon for an indulgent meal.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces penne pasta
  • 4 strips turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef or chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy; remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add olive oil and sauté the onion and bell pepper until soft.
  4. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Pour in the broth and bring to a simmer, then add the heavy cream and Italian seasoning.
  6. Stir in the cooked pasta and half of the cheese until everything is well combined.
  7. Top with the remaining cheese and allow it to melt before serving.
  8. Garnish with cooked turkey bacon and serve hot.

  • For a lighter version, substitute the heavy cream with a lower-fat alternative.
