Description

A delicious and easy one-pan meal that combines sweet and tangy barbecue flavors with savory sausage and rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups long-grain rice
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large pan, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned.
  2. Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic; sauté until tender.
  3. Stir in the rice and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the chicken broth, barbecue sauce, paprika, pepper, and salt; bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes, or until rice is cooked.
  6. Fluff with a fork and serve hot.

Notes

  • For added flavor, let the dish sit covered for a few minutes before serving.
  • You can substitute the sausage with turkey or chicken sausage for a lighter option.
