Description

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 8 oz (225 g) spaghetti or lo mein noodles
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • ½ cup beef broth (or water)
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 12 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Red pepper flakes, to taste (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok. Brown the ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add garlic and ginger. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, and broth. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  5. Optional: Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until sauce thickens.
  6. Add cooked noodles. Toss well to coat with sauce.
  7. Drizzle with sesame oil, stir in green onions, and sprinkle with red pepper flakes if desired.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy.
