Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream butter, sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients.
- Fold in chopped cherries, chocolate chips, and food coloring (if desired).
- Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheets.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden. Cool on wire racks.
