Description

These Lemon Sweet Rolls are soft, pillowy treats bursting with a tangy lemon curd that will brighten your day.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup lemon curd
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)


Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. Add warmed milk, melted butter, and egg, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Roll the dough into a rectangle and spread lemon curd over the top.
  6. Roll up the dough tightly and slice into rolls.
  7. Place rolls in a greased baking pan and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let cool before drizzling with frosting made from powdered sugar and lemon juice.

Notes

  • For an extra lemony kick, add more lemon zest to the frosting.
  • These rolls are best served fresh but can be enjoyed the next day.
