This delicious Grandma’s Banana Pudding Casserole is the ultimate comfort food, with layers of creamy banana pudding, Nilla wafers, and fresh bananas.

- 1 box Nilla wafers
- 4 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups whole milk
- 3 large egg yolks
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, mix sugar, flour, and salt. Gradually whisk in milk and cook over medium heat until thickened.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks and then add a small amount of the hot mixture. Combine back into the saucepan and stir in vanilla.
- In a baking dish, layer Nilla wafers, sliced bananas, and the pudding mixture. Repeat the layers.
- For the topping, beat the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Spread on top of the casserole.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use half-and-half instead of whole milk.
- Garnish with additional banana slices before serving.
