Instructions

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla to the bowl. Mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually mix in boiling water until smooth.
  5. Pour batter into greased cake pans.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the cakes cool before frosting with coconut-pecan frosting.
