Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1 (9 oz) package cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cups fresh spinach
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh parsley or basil, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet, melt 1 tbsp butter over medium heat. Add ground beef and Italian sausage; cook until browned. Drain fat and set aside.
- Add remaining butter to the skillet. Sauté onion until translucent, then add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add tortellini, heavy cream, and Italian seasoning. Simmer until tortellini is tender (3–5 minutes).
- Return the meat to the skillet. Stir in Parmesan cheese until sauce thickens.
- Add spinach and cook until wilted. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Garnish with parsley or basil and serve hot.
Notes
- Use spicy Italian sausage for extra heat.
- Swap heavy cream for half-and-half for a lighter sauce.
- Add mushrooms or sun-dried tomatoes for more texture.
- Gluten-free tortellini works for a GF version.
