Description

This Garlic Butter Chicken Pasta is a creamy, savory one-pan dish featuring tender chicken, a rich garlic butter sauce, and perfectly cooked pasta. It’s a quick and comforting meal ideal for weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 8 oz pasta (fettuccine, spaghetti, or your choice)
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in salted water according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt 1 tbsp of butter over medium heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then cook for 5–7 minutes until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt remaining 2 tbsp of butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Stir in Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes. Pour in chicken broth and simmer for 2 minutes.
  5. Add heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Stir until melted and the sauce slightly thickens.
  6. Return chicken and pasta to the skillet. Toss to coat in the sauce. Add reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and additional Parmesan if desired. Serve immediately.

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for best results.
  • Substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter version.
  • Rotisserie chicken can be used to save time.
  • For extra flavor, add sautéed mushrooms or spinach.
