Description
These Firecracker Watermelon Tequila Pops are refreshing, slightly spicy frozen treats made with fresh watermelon, lime juice, and tequila—perfect for summer parties and BBQs.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups fresh watermelon, cubed and blended
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
- 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
- 1/2 cup silver or blanco tequila
- 1/4 teaspoon Tajín seasoning (optional)
- Lime wedges for garnish (optional)
- Popsicle sticks
- Popsicle molds
Instructions
- Blend the fresh watermelon cubes in a blender until smooth to make about 3 cups of puree.
- In a bowl, mix the watermelon puree with lime juice, honey (or agave), tequila, and chili powder if using. Taste and adjust seasoning.
- Pour the mixture into popsicle molds, leaving space at the top for expansion.
- Insert a popsicle stick into each mold and place in the freezer for at least 4–6 hours, or until frozen solid.
- To remove the pops, run warm water over the outside of the mold for a few seconds and gently pull the sticks.
- Optionally garnish with Tajín and serve with lime wedges.
Notes
- Use seedless watermelon for a smoother texture.
- Adjust sweetness or spice according to your taste.
- Skip the tequila for a non-alcoholic version.
- Use silicone molds for easier unmolding.
- Try adding layers of blended strawberries or raspberries for a fruity twist.
