- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate buttons (or similar candies)
- Decorative icing for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Press a chocolate button in the center of each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges start to golden.
- Let cool before decorating with icing.
