Description

This Classic Slow Cooker Chili is a comforting and easy recipe that incorporates turkey bacon for a delicious twist. Perfect for chilly nights!


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 4 slices turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup corn kernels


Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  2. In the same skillet, brown the ground turkey until cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the cooked turkey bacon, ground turkey, crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, onion, garlic, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper to the slow cooker.
  4. Stir to combine and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  5. In the last 30 minutes of cooking, add the corn.
  6. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add some chopped jalapeños or cayenne pepper.
  • Top with shredded cheese, sour cream, or avocado for added flavor.
