Description

The perfect centerpiece for your holiday feast, this Christmas Prime Rib is juicy and flavorful, guaranteed to impress your family and friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 prime rib roast (about 5-6 pounds)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix garlic, salt, pepper, olive oil, rosemary, and thyme into a paste.
  3. Rub the paste all over the prime rib roast.
  4. Place the roast on a rack in a roasting pan and insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, then reduce temperature to 325°F (165°C).
  6. Continue roasting until the thermometer registers your desired doneness (about 1.5-2 hours for medium-rare).
  7. Remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before carving.

Notes

  • For a more flavorful crust, let the roast sit at room temperature for 1 hour before cooking.
  • Use the leftover juices in the pan to make a delicious gravy.
