Description

This Chocolate Caramel Pecan Cake is a decadent dessert featuring layers of rich chocolate, smooth caramel, and crunchy pecans.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
  4. Fold in the chopped pecans.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans and cool completely on a wire rack.
  8. Once cool, spread caramel sauce between the layers and on top.
  9. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top of the caramel.
