Description

This Chicken Sausage, Broccoli, and Orzo Skillet is a quick and delicious weeknight meal that’s packed with flavor and nutritious ingredients.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 12 ounces chicken sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned.
  3. Add broccoli florets and sauté for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in orzo pasta, chicken broth, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover. Cook for about 10-12 minutes, or until orzo is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley.
  7. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, use spicy chicken sausage.
