Description
A creamy, spicy Cajun Shrimp Pasta dish made with bold seasoning, tender shrimp, and a luscious parmesan cream sauce—all ready in 30 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 8 oz fettuccine or linguine
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
- ½ tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Lemon wedges (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.
- Toss shrimp with Cajun seasoning. Sear in olive oil over medium-high heat for 2–3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- Reduce heat, melt butter in the same pan, and sauté garlic for 30 seconds.
- Add heavy cream and simmer. Stir in parmesan, paprika, and crushed red pepper (if using). Season with salt and pepper.
- Add pasta to the sauce, using pasta water as needed to loosen. Return shrimp to the skillet and toss everything to coat.
- Garnish with parsley and serve with lemon wedges if desired.
Notes
- Use freshly grated parmesan for best melting.
- Tail-off shrimp is easier to eat, but tail-on looks elegant.
- For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
- Add bell peppers or spinach for extra veggies.
