Brie Bites with Cranberry Crunch

Description

A festive appetizer of puff pastry filled with melted Brie, sweet cranberries, and crunchy pecans or walnuts. Perfect for the holidays.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz Brie cheese, rind removed and cubed
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries, chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme (optional)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly flour your work surface.
  2. Roll out puff pastry and cut into 24 squares. Place each square in a mini muffin tin cup.
  3. Add a cube of Brie into each pastry cup.
  4. Mix cranberries, nuts, brown sugar, and thyme in a bowl. Add a teaspoon of this mixture on top of each Brie cube.
  5. Beat the egg with 1 tbsp water and brush the pastry edges.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden and bubbly. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use goat cheese for a tangy twist.
  • Substitute dried cherries for cranberries if desired.
  • These can be made ahead and baked fresh.
