- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup whole milk, warmed
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

- 1 cup pastry cream or jam, for filling
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
- Add the egg mixture, melted butter, and yeast mixture to the flour. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
- Roll the dough out and cut into circles.
- Let the circles rise for another 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the doughnuts until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Remove and drain on paper towels. Fill with pastry cream or jam, and dust with powdered sugar.
