Description

Beef Braciole are traditional Italian beef rolls filled with a savory mixture of herbs and cheese, then braised in a rich tomato sauce. This easy recipe brings authentic flavors to your table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds flank steak
  • 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by tenderizing the flank steak and laying it flat.
  2. In a bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  3. Spoon the mixture evenly over the steak.
  4. Roll the steak tightly and secure with toothpicks or kitchen twine.
  5. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  6. Brown the braciole on all sides in the skillet.
  7. Add marinara sauce to the skillet and cover. Simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours until the meat is tender.
  8. Remove from heat and let rest before slicing.

Notes

  • Letting the rolls rest allows the juices to redistribute, making them more flavorful.
  • Braciole can be served with pasta or over polenta for a delicious meal.
