Crispy shrimp tossed in creamy, spicy Bang Bang sauce and tucked into soft tortillas with crunchy cabbage and fresh herbs.

- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- ½ cup cornstarch
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- ½ cup buttermilk (or milk + vinegar)
- Vegetable oil for frying
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup sweet chili sauce
- 1–2 tbsp Sriracha
- 1 tbsp honey (optional)
- 6–8 small flour or corn tortillas
- 2 cups shredded cabbage
- Chopped green onions or cilantro
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey for the Bang Bang sauce. Set aside.
- Pat shrimp dry, season lightly, and soak in buttermilk for 10 minutes.
- Mix cornstarch and flour in a shallow dish. Dredge shrimp in mixture.
- Heat oil to 350°F in a skillet. Fry shrimp in batches 2–3 minutes per side until golden.
- Drain on paper towels, then toss shrimp in Bang Bang sauce.
- Warm tortillas, layer with cabbage, add shrimp, and garnish with onions/cilantro. Serve with lime wedges.
Notes
- For a lighter version, use an air fryer at 400°F for 8–10 minutes.
- Make the sauce ahead for deeper flavor.
- Swap shrimp for chicken or tofu for variation.
- Use gluten-free flour and corn tortillas for a gluten-free option.
