  • Optional glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar, 2–3 tsp milk, ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle iron and grease it lightly.
  2. Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, mix buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed. Fold in diced apples.
  5. Pour batter into waffle maker and cook for 3–5 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Brush with melted butter and coat in cinnamon sugar or drizzle with glaze.
  7. Let cool slightly and serve warm.
